“I was in prison for three years”

“That guy has an interesting car” I said referring to the old school cop car parked on the street outside my ride share client’s house.
My passenger surprised me by saying, “that’s my car.”
(Me 😞 embarrassed right about now and trying to backtrack)
“I had a guy from work make fun of me everyday because he thought I drove a Ford Crown Victoria that was parked outside the workplace.”
“Oh man,” he said.
“What kind of car did you have before you drove your Vic?” I asked.
“A Sebring. But it got taken away.”
“Oh why?” Because I had gotten four DWI’s and they sent me to prison for, three years. Not a place I’ll ever go to again,” he said. “It’s hard in there but you have to keep focused.”
We talked about about a woman I know whose husband is in prison. She didn’t even know him before he was in prison.
“Yeah that happens a lot, women marrying men in prison. In fact I think there are more married men in prison, than there are married men outside of prison.”
