One of my clients asked me about my most memorable ride-share experience. Of course I had to tell him about the time homeless passengers made off with my laptop (in my trunk).
I explained how a writer’s laptop is like their life.
I tracked them down by calling ☎️ the funeral home. The director was so empathetic he got the family on the phone with me and they told me they knew exactly who I was talking about because they had several laundry baskets with them. With a few stops through Minneapolis I was able to catch them at their next couch surfing destination.
My passenger asked me how freelance writers make a living. After reading an article on Medium, I had the correct answer: twelve dollars an hour.
“You have to love what you do regardless of how much money you make,” I emphasized.
