I picked up someone who lives near International falls.
“Is that a small town, where you live?” I asked.
“Yeah, there’s like five restaurants.”
“Wow! I could NOT live there, I need to be entertained.”
“Oh, I bet you could.”
“Well, I grew up in North Minneapolis and moving to Saint Paul was like a Huge step-up for me. It’s hard to get out of Minneapolis, because of poverty, and the ideas that swirl around. People will try to take your self worth if you let them.”
“You have to work hard to get out,” said my ride-share client.
(And you have no idea how hard I worked to get out)
During my next ride I said to the client:
“Yeah, you’d think so…but somebody was going around and take people’s Cadillac converters, and one morning we woke up to find six squad cars on our street with the thief in our walk-up path. The police were yelling at him to put his hands in the air!”
“At a mom and pops shop near our home, (Inver grove heights) there was high-speed chase with the suspect in the the wrap around parking lot and my mom is pumping gas and sees a car on fire speeding through the lot.
“Wow, Inver grove heights Minnesota is a lot more exciting than it seems:)”
