There was a moment in ‘Call my Agent’, a French translated Netflix series where the director is discussing a corpse scene with an actress and he’s like “You’ll probably not go for it.” This is after the actress is humiliated for numerous nude scenes. The actress says she finds power in saying ‘no’ to scenes she’s not comfortable with.

The director tells her that he wants someone to bite off her ear, and then the actress agrees to it.

It was in that moment of watching the series that I realized how human and how similar I felt to the role of a director.
